The Chair: Theory and Practice of Yarn Bombing Discrete Objects.
May 2, 2013 7:30 pm Social hour 6:30-7:30
Now that Stitches South 2013 has come and gone, most of us are reduced to diets of oatmeal and vegetable soup since our budgets have been sorely depleted by our marvelous yarn purchases. As we scour the roadsides for bottles and aluminum cans we can redeem for extra cash, we are likely to come across other marvelous treasures – ladder back chairs with 1 or 2 missing “rungs”, 3-legged coffee tables, ornate picture frames that have seen better days. Wise knitters who managed to stay within their budgets at Stitches can use the piles of cash they have lying about to get such objects at thrift stores, garage sales, and the like.
Once we get them home, we are often likely to gaze at them in puzzlement, wondering how to make them coexist congenially with our existing treasures. Fret not and have no fear! Linda Fetter will be here to guide you through the maze of opportunity when she presents her enlightening examination – “The Chair: Theory and Practice of Yarn Bombing Discrete Objects.”
The May Meeting will also feature the election of new officers and discussion of the move to St. Luke’s.
Don’t miss our Swan Song in St. Patrick’s. There will be no encores.
